My Degree Project

The primary concept behind my degreee show project is to take the viewer through a visual journey of one of the most historical areas of Dublin; The Liberties. All journeys begin with a beginning and an end point, in this case I am choosing to begin with Marsh’s Library (a tourist attraction) which lies on the eastern perimeter of The Liberties. The end point of my journey is The Guinness Storehouse and Factory, one of the most iconic international brand-names, which lies on the Western perimeter. In between these two points lies an area of Dublin, which is often neglected by the tourist market and Dubliners alike. In my project I aim to bring out or highlight visually interesting, and often ignored, buildings and features which makes this area unique.  I will find connections between my three points of interest, in terms of line, colour, shape, atmosphere, form.
